Data driven tools to assess the location of photovoltaic facilities in urban areas

Urban sustainability is a significant factor in combating climate change. Replacing polluting by renewable energies fundamental to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. Photovoltaic (PV) facilities harnessing solar energy, and particularly self-consumption PV facilities, can be widely used cities throughout most countries. Therefore, locating spaces where photovoltaic installations integrated into urban areas essential change improve sustainability. An open-source software (URSUS-PV) aid decision-making regarding possible optimal locations for panel presented this paper. URSUS-PV result data mining process, it extract characteristics roofs (orientation, inclination, latitude, longitude, area) interest. By combining information with meteorological systems, system predict both next-day hourly energy production long-term daily average production.
